My mission is to provide quality alterations or custom sewing that will make clothing comfortable, attractive and functional. A bride is especially concerned with the fit of her gown and the look of her bridesmaids on the most important day of her life. By giving good service with minimal stress, I will help her achieve the wedding day of her dreams.
My mother taught me to sew when I was 8 or 9 years old. Making my own clothing was fun and cost effective. I was lucky that I had 3 older sisters who could also sew and were available to get me past the hard parts when I was still learning. My educational background is in Fine Arts. I have my BFA from University of California at Irvine. Sewing is a strong creative outlet for me. I also like to quilt, cross stitch and embroider. I love photography, reading, tennis, skiing, biking, hiking, gardening and music of all kinds.
I have been providing alterations for my clients for 23 years in various states. I began sewing for friends and neighbors when my son was 18 months old and I needed a part time job. I preferred to stay with my children and didn't want to work outside the home. My husband's career caused our family to move about every three years and I was able to take this business with me wherever we went. He is retired now and we have been located in Colorado Springs for 4 years. I have no plans to move at this time and will be here to help you and your friends with all your sewing and alteration needs.
